Below is an Exclusive interview with this upcoming star.

1. How do you define your sound?

It's changed throughout the years, right now I find it quite hard to label it.
I'd say "deep / melodic / atmospheric music" might sum up the current sound.

2. At what age did you decide that DJing/Producing is what you want to do?

Music as a career was something I decided on very early in life. I started playing around on my mother's piano from as far back as I can remember, then I picked up the drums while in school. I was around 7 when I got into DJing, then music production followed from that when I was 11.

3. How did it all begin?

I've been exposed to music my entire life. Most of my family are musicians so growing up in a musical household was a big part of helping me find my career path early on in life.

4. Did you always want to be a DJ?

I always wanted to have a career in composing music. DJing sort of just happened out of me loving music and wanting to play it for people.

5. What is the best part of being a DJ?

Playing the music I love to people who love and appreciate it too.

6. What was your most favorite event you played at?

Actually, right here in my home town, Cape Town. It was for a company called Halo Live. I headlined for an event they held a few years back and it was just a fantastic experience from beginning to end.

7. How do you feel Electronic Dance Music has changed over the years since you started?

It's changed drastically. What started off as "Trance" for instance doesn't really sound like anything thats being produced now thats labeled as "Trance". Back when I started, Trance was the most emotive form of electronic music I knew of. Now, thats not so much the case and its more geared towards the club-sound.
The scene has shifted a lot. It's interesting to see and predict where it will be going.

8. How does it feel to be known as one of South Africa's Top DJs?

I think I'd need to be one of South Africa's Top DJ's to be able to answer that!

9. You are an extremely successful DJ. What do you think is the key to success in the music industry?

Dedication, hard work, and practice practice practice! You need to live and breath what you do, whatever that is. Find your passion and go for it!

10. Are there anything else you still wish to achieve?

Plenty, as far as I'm concerned I haven't even begun yet.

11. Tell us about your upcoming projects/events

I've just finished production this week on my first album. It's been around 2 and a half years in the making. I'm very happy with it and glad its complete. Hopefully it will have a release sometime this year.

No events lined up as yet. I recently just got back from playing a few shows in Germany which were amazing. After that I played up in Johannesburg, which I do once a year, and that was great as always.

12. Do you have any tips you'd like to share with young upcoming DJs and producers out there?

Love what you do, write music from the heart and do your own thing. Originality and being unique is something you need.
