Over the years music technology has proven to develop and continue to progress with no stopping. some of the innovation’s we have heard of are the speakers you can sit in, the new stem file music format, magic orbs that create music and up until recently the latest innovation comes in the form of ‘soundable fashion’. Yienia Gortana and musician Birdmask combined forces to create the concept of this new wearable technology. This new project features a jacket that, through a system of conductive e-textiles, creates sounds and beats in real time by just simple touch. Although it might not be the most fashionable jacket to wear, this project is a sign of a new music technology and fashion fusion.

At this year’s Ultra Music Festival Martin Garrix did not fail to put up great show with his set being called one of the best of the weekend by EDM fans. His set consisted mostly of new music which hinted at a new release or two. It was no surprise when the Dutchmen revealed his collaboration with David Guetta on a big room festival banger that is to be released soon. The two producers will combine forces to give us something that could be worthwhile even though David Guetta is involved.

 

 

As a new artist on the scene Didrick does not fail to bring a new, fresh and equally euphoric aesthetic to the former American Idol’s vocalist. The official remix by Didrick which is now an unexpected progressive hit was released alongside many other remixes but Didrick has managed to make his contribution shine through. Although Didrick’s discography might be limited in number, there is no stopping him in continuing to bring forth worthwhile dance music.

According to Nielson Music, Madeon’s debut album “Adventure”sold over 11000 copies in the first official week. This putting the young French artist right at the top of Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart, dominating names like The Prodigy, David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Jack Ú. Madeon’s unique touch and attention to detail is quite evident in “Adventure” and has even managed to get three singles charting on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic chart.

Just like A-Trak, Avicii is another artist to be honoured by Pete Tong and BBC Radio. Avicii’s quick rise to fame is without a doubt one of his greatest achievements. Since his Tom Hangs and Tim Bergling days, Avicii has proven to make his name a household name all over the world. Not just his hits but his entire scope of work was honoured this weekend by Pete Tong. Avicii never fails to impress us, here’s to many more awesome hits.

The Tomorrowland Music Festival continue to keep things fresh with new line ups, introducing new artists, fresh new events, surprise performers and up until recently a new stage featuring the hottest in Techno music. If hard driving techno is what youre looking for, look no further, Tomorrowland brings you Kozzmozz. The lineup includes performances from DJs like Marcel Fengler, Speedy J and Luke Slater who will ensure the energy never drops.

Last month at Miami Music Week, Alex Ridha also known as Boyz Noise hosted Boyznoise Records (BNR) party. It was not just to showcase their artists but also to kick-off their world tour celebrating 10 years of Dance Music. Since the South Beach soiree, the tour’s had one more stop in Geneva, Switzerland. They continue to tour all around the world up until mid-August. Coming along for the ride are big name DJs and producers like Spank Rock, Djedjotronic, Housemeister, Strip Steve and a whole lot more from the BNR family.

The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here, a possible collaboration between Deadmau5 and Kaskade might be on the way. After their last successful hit ‘I Remember’, the world has been waiting eagerly for another song to come from this power pair. The two artists discussed a possible collaboration via Twitter, and although nothing has been made official, at least talks of collaboration is evident.

If there is still any doubt in your mind about whether or not Krewella faked their live set at the Ultra Music Festival, this video might just prove that they probably did not. These days we see new technological advances almost daily, but many few cause quite a stir like Native Instruments’ new music file type, the ‘Stem file’. It is not just any old file type, it is a file format that enables produces to include up to four stems. The components of a song can be divided into different components giving the artist the creative freedom to use it to the best of his/her ability. For instance after producing a complete track, the vocals, drums, lead synths and harmonies can be sectioned into different stems. Until now acapellas and instrumentals have been the only true way to get a perfectly clean mashup. Might this just be the next big thing?

EDM superstar Avicii made his return to the Ultra Music Festival this weekend, playing a very unique set right after Tiesto closed the night. Avicii played out many of his classic dance inspiring hits that he is well known for. after a while, he shut down the music and lights, the crowded filled with suspension. he reveals one word ‘Stories’. Avicii then dropped several exclusibe hits that have been known as teases for the new project, such as ‘City Lights’ and a collaboration with Coldplay’s Chris Martin which is sure to be one of the many classical hits from the album. in this new sound we see Avicii making an effortless return to the Avicii sound that first got him to where he is today. Zedd recently released a series of cryptic videos which led fans across the world to the website, ZeddTrueColors.com, where all we can see is Zedd’s logo and a countdown timer. at the current all we can say is that the album is most likely expected to be called ‘True Colors’. According to a previous interview, we can expect a new single or possibly the complete album within 5 days.  Whatever it is, my eyes are glued to the site. Stay tuned for info on the new album.

Martin Garrix announced his collaboration with EDM superstar Avicii not too long ago and just over the weekend he played the song at the Ultra Music Festival. This past Saturday Diplo posted a picture to Instagram with featured Led Zeppelin’s lead singer Robert Plant with the caption saying “Collab coming soon”. Diplo has proven himself to be one of the most proactive and busy DJ/producers out their right now and this collab is expected to be just one of the many most iconic moments in EDM. Robert Plant has stunned rock music fans over the years with his trademark high pitched voice. Just moments into yesterday’s show, Andrea (host of the Ultra Music Festival) announced that the rumours of Justin Bieber, Skrillex and Diplo ‘s surprise guest appearance were true. Just after Skrillex wrapped up his set at Ultra, he welcomed Diplo and Justin Bieber to the stage to perform their new track “Where Are You Now”.

Shortly after Krewella’s set at the ULTRA Music Festival, a screenshot of Krewella’s CDJs not being plugged in made its way online. The image spread like a wild fire online and caused quite a stir on social networking site Twitter. Soon after EDM DJ Deadmau5 chimed in and accused the girls of faking their ‘live’ set.
