EDM which used to be known as a more underground sound has developed into a more common sound to hear nowadays. Many people might even argue that EDM has lost its once indie origin. It is no secret that the world’s top electronic music producers work alongside mainstream artists today. This collaboration with mainstream artists often results in a more commercial sounding electronic music. This making it commercially and radio friendly.

Is EDM starting to lose its once pure existence? Sure the commercialization of EDM has brought in many new fans over the years but at what cost? Over time more of these new fans are seen a rave music festivals but bringing along their negativity. The problem is that these news fans do not know about the real origin of electronic music and what it stands for. The aim of electronic music is not just to create a dance atmosphere but also to exert emotions of peace, love and happiness. The EDM community is unified by music, a community with no judgment, hatred or unfair discrimination. This commercialisation of techno music is in many ways are harming our community while simultaneously developing EDM into a world class music genre, thus receiving the recognition it deserves. However, the question remains, is EDM becoming too mainstream?

Today we hear so much of negativity that takes place at raves usually caused by the newbies but whatever the case may be we need to accept them as our own and educate them about what we stand for.

We need to continue to spread and share the beauty of EDM with the world. We need to remember what we represent and stand for as a nation. A nation that stands for equality and fights against discrimination and judgement. Initially that was my aim when I started this music blog. I happen to live in an area where EDM is considered not to be that popular as other music genres like Hip Hop and R&B. This inspired me to start a music blog wherein I could share the beauty of EDM with my friends, family, community and even the world.

L.A. based singer-songwriter Natalia Safran has teamed with Canadian DJ/Producer Cajjmere Wray to remix her single “All I Feel Is You” into a driving tribal/house anthem, an ode to love lost and one man’s life defying struggle.   The original single exuded a haunting, indie feel which quickly resonated with Safran’s legions of fans. For the remix, Wray weaves Safran’s bellowing vocals into a richly layered tribal vibe to create a sound that is solemn, but undeniably sexy, and beckons the listener to the dance floor.

“All I Feel Is You,” written and performed by Safran, is the featured track in the movie “Hours,” starring her good friend and collaborator Paul Walker. Following Walker’s fatal car accident on Nov. 30, 2013, Safran vowed to honor his spirit by giving back to the community whenever possible.

With the new, smoking hot dance track, Safran comments, “The original song was going to be just a closing to a beautiful film that was “Hours.” Then suddenly, because of the tragic events, became a tribute to the man we all loved and admired. The remix brings the song into another world, gives it a whole new life, so I guess the tribute lives on in another form too.”

Eccentric popstar Lady Gaga recently kicked off her artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball Tour in support of her latest studio album ARTPOP. In the new album Lady Gaga experiments with Electronic music, ranging from Electro, Disco, Trap and even Dubstep. This whole new EDM inspired approach to music is the fuel behind her new ARTPOP era. This time Gaga pulls all the stops on giving her Little Monsters the complete Gaga-Rave experience. From exciting new costumes, unique stage design, new dance routines and a complete rave experience Gaga does not fail to impress.



The stage for the tour was inspired a white cave and consisted of two sections, with catwalks connecting them through the audience area. It was made of lucite which rendered them translucent, and enabled the crowd to dance underneath it while still being able to watch the show. Throughout the show there are inflatable gardens, glitter confetti explosions, on-stage costume changes, Frozen-like props, and wigs for days.

This artRAVE is an event not to miss out on, it is centered around the Rave experience filled with the talented Lady Gaga herself.

Electronic Dance Music DJ and producer Tiesto is back with a new album called "A Place Called Paradise". This highly anticipated album is expected to be released on June 16th. Since the release of his last studio album "Kaleidoscope", Tiesto finally found it fit to return with a new fresh album. Tiesto spent the last 5 years releasing three compilation albums (The Club Life series) and performing live at events all over the world. Now he returns with a bang, he suggests that this new album title and sound is inspired by Las Vegas. "When I really look at it, it’s like this oasis of entertainment right in the middle of the desert, so to me, 'A Town Called Paradise' is a good way to describe Las Vegas," he explains to Rollingstone.

Electronic Dance Music superstar DJ, Avicii is back in studio working on his second album. At this point in time Avicii is relaxing in Laguna beach for a couple of days before he gets to work with his second artist album.

Well known EDM based, DJ Mag has released their annual list of the top 100 clubs for the year 2014. Clubs ranging from all regions acroos the world, from Spain, Brazil, Ibiza and the US. So if you are a raging clubber checkout the list for yourself.

A new company called Fuzipop known for their interesting approach to the scene, works to bring the Electronic Dance Music and rave experience to kids aged 6-12 and their parents.

Coachella being one of the biggest EDM events in the world had an unfortunate incident last weekend when an attendee passed away due to apparent drug overdose. According to NBC LA, the attendee was hospitalized after attending the festival. She was then broughy to the medical tent Sunday morning and transferred to varies medical centers, she eventually died five days later on Thursday at the Desert Regional Medical center.

Yes you read it correctly, comedian actor Will Ferrell is now developing a movie based on the Electronic Dance Music scene. The movie is expected to be titled "I'm in love with the DJ". The script written by Lauren Kahn revolves around a young woman who heads to Spain with two close friends for work.

Taking this week's number one spot as the hottest track right now is Electro-smashing, "Fall into the Sky". The track features vocals from EDM vocalist Ellie Goulding. Lucky Date & Zedd combine their forces along with Ellie to produce an over-powering dance anthem made for the dance floor.

Alesso and OneRepublic fuse their talents to give us this virtually addictive and ponderous dance syntheis track, "If I Lose Myself Tonight". This remix by Alesso give this track ultimately new meaning and expresses a message of pure positivity throughout the vocal composition.

I could not help but feel the need to review Tiesto's official remix of Zedd's commercially successful hit, Clarity. This song is known for it's major success gained in and out of the EDM industry. This time however Tiesto adds his personal style to the song giving it a whole new approach that I would describe as shockingly explosive.

Ring of fire is an Electro-dubstep track from the hottest EDM crew in the industry at the moment, Krewella. From the group that brought us tracks like "Alive" and "Live For The Night", they back and stunned us again with their no. 9 track on their album, Get Wet.

Electro House producers Alvaro and Quintino combine forces to give us another amazing big room energy-driven dance anthem. What I love most of "World In our Hands"is the uplifting dance beat that puts me in a complete extreme high.

F*ck choreographed dance moves, let the f*cken music move you. Electronic Dance Music is not about sequenced dance arrangements, it's about free body movement driven by the bumping beats of the music.

Psy Trance is a new form of mainstream Trance that explores a heightened and slightly more insane uplifting dance experience. It trades the euphonic chords and uplifting melodies of Trance for more up beat pouding basslines and mind bending samples.

ARTPOP is the third studio album from eccentric American pop star Lady Gaga. Together with Electronic Dance Music producer like Zedd and Madeon, the Queen of Pop managed to bring forth an Electronic music inspired album that still withholds her pop sound and originality.
